About

I’m based in Oregon, balancing a career rooted in high-tech fields with a lifelong return to art. These images started as slides I shot on film over the years, capturing landscapes across England and Europe. Today, I use digital tools to bring out what I saw when I first pressed the shutter: the light, the weather, and the feel of a place.

The process itself is a major part of the joy. A slide from the 1980s is scanned and then reworked digitally until it matches my memory of standing there. I draw much of my inspiration from my father, who used to hand-color black-and-white images. I love his work on the Mission in San Diego, my hometown. For me, the results are sometimes photorealistic, sometimes impressionistic, and often a mixture of the two—a combination of film and memory that suits me perfectly.
